Job Description

Senior Systems Engineer Summary:

Signature Consultants has an opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer. In this role the candidate will be responsible for evaluation of complex implantable and external medical device systems by analyzing system requirements, user needs and system design. The candidate will be expected to perform system design verification and validation activities and provide support for other System Design activities including current systems engineering principles and technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze system requirements, user needs and system design, perform system interaction analysis, and coordinate system evaluation activities (i.e. validation, verification).
  • Transform requirements into comprehensive test protocols and automated test scripts.
  • Develop and maintain high quality non-medical device software tools in a regulated environment to support system design and system evaluation activities.
  • Conduct systems level analysis/simulations, partitioning and measuring results against requirements.
  • Apply sound, systematic problem-solving methodologies in identifying, prioritizing, communicating, and resolving System level issues.
  • Continuously improve System V&V processes and work methodologies by interfacing with peers/cross-functional groups (software, firmware and hardware) and analyze activities to improve workflow.
  • Timely completion of assigned work elements to meet company goals and priorities.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field with 5-9 years related experience or MS with 3-5 years' experience
  • Experience in analyzing system requirements and transforming requirements into test protocols and automated test scripts
  • Ability to analyze test results and perform risk analysis.
  • Ability to work with proprietary and off the shelf hardware components including oscilloscopes, signal generators etc. to create test scenarios and analyze results.
  • Experience in writing automated test scripts using Python and/or Java/C++, HTML and scripting.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulations and standards relevant to class II/III medical devices.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated with a passion for solving problems.

Preferred Skills:

  • Medical Device or regulated industry experience and knowledge.
  • Experience using SCRUM or other Agile based development methodologies.
  • Experience with change management and issue tracking tools such as JIRA, AccuRev, Windchill, DOCS etc.
