Scrum Master Summary:

Signature Consultants has an opportunity for a Scrum Master to work on a contract position with one of our clients located in Davie, FL. In this role the candidate will guide the team and the organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values and how to get the most out of self-organization. The Scrum Master will lead the development, documentation, testing or modification of computer systems or programs, including prototypes.


  • Prepare and/or review documentation of computer systems and guide decisions about development and testing of these systems
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.
  • Facilitating getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owner, especially with respect to grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Providing all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example
  • Any other duties as assigned


  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least 5 years for a software development team or other technical teams that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
  • Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • A Bachelors' degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree
  • Knowledge of JIRA or other Agile project management tools and proficiency in MS office tools
  • Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)

Preferred Skills/Education:

  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least 6-8 years for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing
  • Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the team
  • Previous experience as a team lead
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • A Master's degree in Computer Science or other related technical fields
  • Knowledge of JIRA or other Agile tools
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • Certification: Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) and Scaled Agile Framework consultant (SAFe SPC 4), Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma process improvement
