Release Manager Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Release Manager for an opportunity with a client in Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities:

  • Monthly and weekly status reports and related deliverables at the program and release level
  • Release plan
  • Release Status Reporting, inclusive of dashboards, metrics, and delivery
  • High Level Timeline
  • Centralized Issue Log used to identify issues and put plans in place to resolve
  • Centralized Risk Log used to identify risks and put plans in pace to mitigate
  • Centralized Action Item Log used to identify action items and proactive management to ensure completion on schedule
  • Recommend options to mitigate risks, resolve issues and complete action items
  • Project Roles and Responsibilities
  • Meeting Minutes to standing Program and Release Management meetings
  • Delivery of pertinent content for Steering Committee presentations inclusive of overall status, key activities, and risks / issues
  • Escalation to Program Leadership and Execution Authority if there are risks of potential delays/impacts that could not be resolved by diplomatically addressing with MDM and consumers teams
  • Budgeting, financial management and reporting of Program Management and UAT/Regression Test costs for each release with the goal of optimizing testing costs even as more MDM consumers are added over time while streamlining the UAT Testing process
  • Provide Production Implementation support for each release as needed
  • Ensure completion of all UAT related activities and deliverables
    • User Acceptance Test Plan development
    • User Acceptance Test Script development
    • User Acceptance Test Execution (including documentation of actual results)
  • Track and report on UAT metrics
  • Plan of the MDM Production refresh dates and CDC dates with MDM IT and consumer IT Teams for each environment for UAT Testing each release to ensure that data is synchronized across all platforms in order to keep the number of discrepancies due to timing differences to a minimum
  • Facilitation and meeting minutes of daily UAT meetings during Execution phase
  • Orchestration across all impacted consumers and related systems to ensure an effective UAT for the release. Communication and review of the scope of each release with consumers to assess impact. This includes that each consumer has identified the impact of each release, made any necessary coding/testing changes well in advance of the release, has the appropriate test environment(s) and Business/IT test resources available for the UAT Testing as planned
  • Recommendations of options to resolve testing issues/defects
  • Improved impact analysis of consumers as well as data analysis of release-specific changes
  • Monitor/track all defects that have been raised during UAT Testing and follow up with the appropriate IT Team, either MDM IT or consumer IT Team, to ensure that defect is resolved promptly

Skills Required:

  • Exemplary Data and Master Data Management skills
  • Exemplary Program Management skills - ability to work with various independent groups of consuming system teams and ensure their data analysis as well as UAT and regression testing is completed within strict timeframes…This requires strong "soft" skills.
  • Completely proactive - identifies issues and risks and brings those to manager
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • 5+ years of work experience with a focus on data and technology
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from Project Management Institute
  • Experience in presenting to executives
  • Master Data Management (MDM) project management experience
  • Release Management Experience
  • Business analysis experience
  • User acceptance testing
  • Comfortable in environment with changing and competing priorities
  • Skilled at resolving major issues diplomatically and relatively quickly
