Project Manager Summary:

Signature Consultants is looking for a Project Manager to work on a contract position with one of our clients located in Davie, Florida. The Project Manager is accountable for the successful management of information technology projects, including enhancements to existing systems and applications within the IT Organization and design and development of new systems. This positions responsibilities include ensuring proper and timely control and dissemination of all necessary supporting documentation including budgets, project plans, and vendor information in a manner conducive to proper project implementation and successful completion. The position requires the ability to actively engage, coordinate, and manage both clients, vendors, and Information Technology resources to ensure successful project implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Track and report on Information Technology department's project portfolio
  • Develop and work with teams to ensure they adhere to project management standards when implementing solutions
  • Creates guidelines on how to accurately gather functional and technical requirements for projects and tasks from users and customers
  • Lead the development, documentation, testing or modification of computer systems or programs, including prototypes
  • Prepare and/or review documentation of computer systems and guide decisions about development and testing of these systems, including functional and technical requirements
  • Gather functional and technical requirements using standard project management/business analysis methodologies including but not limited to interviews, document analysis, requirement workshops, use cases, workflow analysis, etc.
  • Evaluate information gathered and prepare possible solutions to be presented to business units
  • Establishes and maintains a strong working relationship with senior leadership and functional managers throughout business areas
  • Utilize logic and business acumen to offer options and solutions that will address both technical and functional needs
  • Creates and maintains project plans for key projects
  • Work with project sponsor and stakeholders to complete project charters which outline scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budget and timing
  • Track and report on scope, goals, deliverables, resources, budget, and timing
  • Communicate with end user, project team and project sponsors/stake holders of project status
  • Prepares and compiles project requirements, implementation timelines and budgets
  • Communicate with appropriate internal and external resources to insure project success
  • Communicate project milestones and successes
  • Ensure proper development of staff with regard to individual career goals and business requirements
  • Prepares and/or approves project plans and to ensure projects are aligned with standards and IT strategy
  • Allocates appropriate resources to ensure that projects are completed within committed time and budget
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field required; OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
  • 5+ years of experience managing Information Technology projects
  • PMI certification a plus
  • Working knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile methods
  • Experience in change management
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with a diverse range of people, which includes the upper levels of corporate management
  • Self-sufficient, requiring limited supervision over job knowledge, expectations and successful project completion
  • Working knowledge of Project Management tools and Visio - required
  • In-depth knowledge of one or more aspects of the business, e.g. gaming, hotel operations, personnel procedures, financial controls, etc.
