Signature Consultants is seeking a Power BI Developer for an opportunity with a client located in York, South Carolina. The candidate will ideally be invested in advanced analytics leveraging data, analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. In addition, data visualization and storytelling with data are critical to the success of the practice. The Data Analyst is a highly skilled and experienced professional providing credentialed data expertise and technical analysis to support various product and project teams. The Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in telling a story with data using sophisticated data visualization tools and data models. The successful candidate will be able demonstrate mastery of data visualization tools such as Power BI in concert with deep business understanding.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide innovative analytical insights within the Data Visualization & Insights practice
  • Conduct detailed data analysis on data used across business units to evaluate business processes and improve on/create new features
  • Work closely with the Data Platforms team, Data Science team and other Technology Group teams to build powerful, visual reports/dashboards leveraging machine learning models, relational & OLAP datasources
  • Perform various data analytics in SQL, Power BI or MS Excel using statistical models or other industry accepted tool
  • Provide relational database expertise to construct and execute SQL queries to be used in data analysis activities
  • Provide data solutions, tools, and capabilities to enable self-service frameworks for data consumers
  • Provide expertise and translate the business needs to design and develop tools, techniques, metrics and dashboards for insights and data visualization
  • Responsible for developing and executing tools to monitor and report on machine learning model quality
  • Responsible for establishing appreciation and adherence to the principles of data quality management, including metadata, lineage, and business definitions
  • Provide support to Tech teams in managing security mechanisms and data access governance
  • Partner with shared technical and business resources to effectively deliver and support solutions
  • Help translate business partner requirements into data and analytical specifications
  • Assist with data and model governance support
  • Support training and learning initiatives that help grow talent
  • Formulating, suggesting and managing data-driven projects
  • Suggesting ways in which insights obtained might be used to inform business strategies

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of data modeling/analytics experience
  • At least 3 years experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI
  • Bachelor's degree in a data analytics related field (e.g. Statistics, Applied Mathematics, etc.) or equivalent work experience
  • Experience using a broad range of quantitative analytical techniques, from descriptive statistical analysis to predictive and prescriptive analytic solutions
  • Importantly, the candidate will have a strong aptitude to determine the appropriate tool for each task
  • Strong understanding of model lifecycle management
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, especially for data stitching and data discovery
  • Strong communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills, being able to translate models into business insights across the organization
  • Familiarity with Agile a plus
  • Knowledge of data structures and data stitching
  • Ability to relay insights in layman's terms, such that these can be used to inform business decisions
  • Outstanding mentorship abilities
