Job Description

Performance Engineer/Architect Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Performance Engineer/Architect for an opportunity with a client located in North Richland Hills, TX. The PFA will be able to conduct an in depth analysis that identifies areas where the application is performing at a suboptimal level, establishes the root causes for those and provides stakeholders with a well-defined strategy to address them, even in cases when a transaction(s) might be performing within the acceptable range established by the application's SLA's and code opportunities can be realized. The PFA will also be instrumental in determining whenever the issues to be addressed lie on the infrastructure side as well and will provide specific guidance to those teams
  • Validate system performance and capacity, including OS resource utilization, Application Response Times, Throughput / TPS
  • Be able to identify bottlenecks and execute root cause analysis (end to end architecture) for the following:

  • Expert knowledge of capacity planning and sizing concepts & execution is required
  • Excels in carrying out Bottleneck Analysis and is able to provide specific, actionable direction to Development/DevOps/Infrastructure teams to address the areas that are defined as priority
  • Mentoring of performance testing resources and contributions towards the definition of performance testing scenarios/ strategy is expected
  • Evidence of having an ability to Analyze, evaluate, define action plans and coordinate with other teams in order to solve complex performance, scalability and hardware capacity problems

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience as a Performance Engineering Architect
  • Experience in the financial services sector is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The successful candidate will have demonstrated an exceptionally high level of APM tool expertise in order to identify performance related issues (DynaTrace / AppDynamics / New Relic) and be able to define monitoring metrics depending on the application's technology stack. The PEA must have excellent server side monitoring and troubleshooting skills (through server side or profiling tools / utilities) and be able to provide architectural recommendations
