Instrumentation Software Engineer Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking an Instrumentation Software Engineer for an opportunity with a client in Minneapolis, MN.

Qualifications:

  • BSCE/CS/EE
  • Three years software development experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of C++with strong software implementation and debugging skills.
  • A quick learner with the ability to work on complex tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and the willingness to assist other engineers troubleshoot and solve problems with complex software and hardware designs.

At least one of:

  • Knowledge of task synchronization in multitasking environments and experience writing applications for a multitasking OS.
  • Knowledge of real-time concepts and experience developing real-time applications.
  • Knowledge of software development on Linux
  • Familiar with TCP/IP and socket programming

Desirable, but not essential qualifications:

  • Knowledge of microprocessor busses and basic digital electronic circuits.
  • Knowledge of rigorous software development practices, techniques, and documentation using object-oriented methodologies.
  • Practical, proven experience applying object-oriented methodologies to all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, software architecture and design, interface specifications, implementation, and testing.
  • Actual experience producing object-oriented designs in UML from requirements specifications and then implementing those designs in C++.
  • Experience with LabView and/or programmable NI systems
  • Experience with QT creator
