HR Manager Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking an HR Manager for an opportunity with a client in Midlothian, VA. This position is responsible for collaborating and assisting the VP, Total Reward & HR Systems and VP, Employee Engagement with the overall success of the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Manager oversees the design, implementation, communication and administration of the organizations benefit programs and recruitment program.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as plan administrator for the defined benefit, 401(k) and 457(b) plans
  • Responsible for all aspects of retirement plan administration including audit and compliance
  • Manages the annual retirement plan audits and 5500 reporting
  • Ensures plan documents are kept up to date and ERISAcompliant and that the plans are filed and communicated appropriately
  • Ensures the compensation program enhances the organization's ability to recruit and retain employees
  • Assists in the administration and design of employee benefit programs such as medical and dental insurance, group life and disability insurance, and other benefits
  • Assists the Benefits Team by providing project support on benefit plan renewals, updates or revisions to other benefit programs, and analyzing benefit programs for external competitiveness
  • Provides backup assistance to the payroll administration and HRIS functions and serves as cosystems administrator for the HRIS
  • Ensures HRIS configuration is maintained according to retirement plan IRS annual compensation, benefit and contribution limits
  • Responsible for requesting revisions to the 401(k) plan export as necessary.
  • Resolves complex employee questions and problems regarding the retirement plans by researching benefits policies and provisions and acting as liaison with carriers
  • Assists VP, Total Rewards & HRIS in annual incentive plan administration, policy, and plan development, calculating bonuses, maintaining proper documentation and obtaining authorizations
  • Collaborates or assists in special compensation and benefits projects as needed
  • Responsible for the development of salary and welfare benefit communication plans to include changes or enhancement to programs or ongoing education regarding the features of our salary and benefit programs
  • Provides leadership, support, and guidance in attracting and hiring key talent for current and future organizational needs. Creates an environment of continuous improvement by constantly striving to achieve better results and greater efficiencies
  • Oversees the coordination and facilitation of the New Hire Orientation program
  • Report all suspicious activity to Fraud Risk Management

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of regulations and laws related to employee benefit plans and compensation such as ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, COBRA, and USERRA
  • Also required is prior experience with retirement plan administration, health and welfare plan administration, reporting requirements, cafeteria plan administration, and managing multiple vendor relationships
  • Demonstrated successful track record managing high functioning teams and full life cycle recruitment experience

Qualifications:

  • College degree with coursework in Human Resources preferred; or equivalent combination of significant demonstrated experience in the compensation, benefits, and recruitment fields and familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Experience in managing all the legal aspects of compensation and benefits administration as well as recruitment practices
  • Requires extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Prior experience in managing successful teams, HRIS system, generating reports, analyzing data, and crafting reports and recommendations for benefit and compensation changes is required
