Desktop Support Technician Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Desktop Support Technician for an opportunity with a client in Eagan, MN. The Desktop Support Tech will be responsible for performing desktop support and delivery services related to IT assets (laptops, desktops, thin clients, and portable devices) and virtual infrastructure which include, but are not limited to: Move/Add/Changes (MACs), Hardware Repair, Hardware & software installs, software licensing, and asset lifecycle management.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide desktop support and delivery services related to IT assets (laptops, desktops, thin clients, and portable devices) and virtual infrastructure which include but are not limited to:
    • Move/Add/Changes (MACs)
    • Hardware Repair
    • Hardware & software installs configurations, troubleshooting, and documentation.
    • Hardware Asset Lifecycle Management
    • Software Licensing
  • Support Executive Team
  • Review changes and related communications to assess impact on user community. Assist with communication and documentation associated with changes for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Participate and/or initiate projects designed to improve service to our customers and overall team/process efficiency
  • Acquire and maintain current knowledge of relevant information technology procedures, systems and applications. Become a subject matter expert on various support areas.
  • Adherence to service level targets and support goals
  • Documentation - technical documentation (requests and tickets updates, as well as technical documentation for customers and support teams)
  • Perform internal prep, tracking, and disposal activities, such as imaging assets, wiping assets, preparing physical delivery packages, area organization, ordering, etc.)
  • Diagnose system hardware, software and operator problems.
  • Provide support for Citrix environment and applications
  • Provide technical support (hardware and software) to remote workforce.
  • Provide MAC Apple hardware/software support and management
  • Support BYOD mobility software and setup
  • Work with other support teams to facilitate the support and deployment of standard software packages, desktop deployment, and to help enforce security standards and policies across the enterprise.
  • Local and regional travel to provide technical services to remote offices, including district offices, clinics to Provide technical support and hardware/software deployment to remote offices, including district offices and clinics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate/Technical degree in computer science or related IT field, or certifications relating to support areas and 3 years combined experience providing IT support services at a large corporation and customer service experience, OR 5 years of combined of experience providing IT support services at a large corporation and customer service experience.
  • Breadth of cross-environment understanding and experience. Good working knowledge of workstation hardware and software including current operating systems, virtual infrastructure, desktop applications and networking systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization in person and in writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and resolve problems in a timely manner and with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, assimilate, document, and apply new concepts.
  • Ability to lift heavy computer equipment (up to 50 pounds).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel (minimal 5-10%)
  • Oncall responsibilities and ability to perform some after hours work for enterprise changes and desktop implementations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science Computer Science or related field
  • A+ Certification
  • MAC and JAMF experience
  • ITIL Foundations Certification
  • Citrix XenApp & XenDesktop experience
  • Active Directory Administration/Support
