Data Privacy Analyst Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Data Privacy Analyst for an opportunity in Chesterfield, MO. This position is responsible for completing work efforts within the Data Privacy Governance domain of Global Risk Services with a primary focus on data discovery (Varonis) and data loss prevention (DLP) services (Digital Guardian). Utilizing a risk based approach, this position will identify DLP and/or Varonis polices necessary to reduce risk of data loss, and will work in conjunction with technical teams to fine tune and implement these policies. This role will drive a culture of data protection throughout the organization and help reduce data loss risk through the advancement of initiatives and the performance of related Data Privacy Governance activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to on-going strategic planning activities within the Data Privacy Governance program
  • Support other key Data Privacy Governance program elements in compliance with relevant privacy laws, internal policies, and standards
  • Play a leadership role on key projects such as DLP and ensure that key data privacy risks are being adequately addressed
  • Engage business partners to design and deploy DLP and/or data discovery policy requirements to securely manage sensitive data
  • Develop and refine key Data Privacy Governance metrics and reporting (KRIs, KPIs, etc.)
  • Partner with Information Security in researching emerging data protection technologies and best practices to stay abreast of current industry trends
  • Manage periodic sensitive data discovery exercises and coordinate active risk reduction activities to appropriately protect and manage sensitive data identified
  • Develop, implement, and provide on-going support of Data Privacy Governance policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Manage privacy risk relative to sensitive systems and confidential data throughout the organization
  • Support the resolution of Internal Audit, Compliance, and/or Risk Management related issues that could impact the confidentially, availability or integrity of information
  • Represent the Data Privacy Governance team in IT, governance groups, committees or other projects, as needed.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on DLP and data discovery services
  • Escalates key data privacy issues accordingly
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and privilege when required
  • Performs additional duties as required

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners at all levels
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in information security, data protection/assurance or data privacy
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to effectively resolve moderately complex situations and issues
  • Experience in a large-scale organization or technology environment preferred
  • Expertise with a variety of information protection technologies, including DLP, data classification, and data discovery solutions (e.g. Varonis)
  • Anticipates and interprets business partner needs to identify, design, and implement data privacy/data protection solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate and learn new technologies and products, along with the ability to work with vendors to deliver enhancements, upgrades and out-of-the-box solutions.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management, organization, and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience

Preferred:

  • Experience working successfully with internal enterprise risk management, compliance, audit, business controls and legal partners
  • Experience implementing information protection technologies in support of data privacy and security regulations such as HIPAA, and GDPR and understanding of baseline, supplemental and compensating information protection controls frameworks
