Data Architect Summary:

Signature Consultants is looking for a Data Architect to work on a contract position with one of our clients located in Boca Raton, FL. The Data Architect will participate in Data Governance meeting to provide guidance and advocate how we can help the business be more successful, including participation with Data Management organizations to Define ownership, usage, security and quality for all data. Successful candidates will need an extensive knowledge of data warehouse and BI techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivery responsibility / accountability on business projects
  • Responsible for the data architectural design and compliance of solutions
  • Approval of detailed data designs and vendor data designs to ensure the adherence to enterprise standards
  • Reduce complexity
  • Increase re-usability
  • Drive down costs and complexity by using enterprise standards
  • Design data solutions that meet the best interest of multiple stakeholders including those of the project and enterprise level
  • Design solutions that leverage enterprise tools and have reusable components and services
  • Work with business users to reduce technical data complexity introduced by business requirements
  • Ensure data designs meet business requirements
  • Collaborate with PMOs, business and Enterprise Architects to develop a data strategy for the organization
  • Work directly with Data Analysts, Solution Architects and Vendors to understand and validate requirements and translate business requirements into technical requirements and designs
  • Develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database
  • Logical design of Databases, Data Warehouses and Multidimensional Databases including data flows, conception model and logical models
  • Serve as a consulting resource for Delivery and Support
  • Create strategy and recommendations on a company's future data and tech policies
  • Collaborate with other team members to build the ideal database, data integration and business intelligence infrastructure and platforms
  • Establish Data Architecture Design Patterns and best practices
  • Forward thinking on new technologies and patterns
  • Technology strategy and road-maps
  • Act as the lead Technology Services representative in the delivery of technology solutions
  • Provide overall technical leadership and directs teams in the delivery of technology solutions
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Portfolio Managers and technical stakeholders to deliver on the following responsibilities for end-to-end technical delivery
  • Ensure the realization of the solution architecture, making sure it is operable & cost-effective
  • Lead and drive progress on all technical delivery aspects
  • Help identify all required roles and technology resources
  • Ensure the assembly of the required technical teams
  • Lead identification of technical tasks and milestones
  • Ensure technical requirements are delivered with quality and completeness
  • Drive creation of financial estimates for all phases including TCO
  • Partner with PM to ensure a successful release to production including transition activities
  • Assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and collaborate to drive toward mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Drive to effectively resolve and provide awareness for technical issues and risks
  • Manage the partner relationship to ensure delivery of technical work done by 3rd party partners or vendors
  • Provide feedback on performance of internal technical team members to their leaders

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Data Architect
  • Leadership and strong communication to influence architecture and design decisions
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good understanding of Teradata, Informatica and Cognos - a plus
  • Communications and Presentation Skills including ability to communicate data concepts to business users
  • Good understanding of Data Governance
  • Data modeling and design
  • SQL, NoSQL and Big Data knowledge
