Business Support Consultant Summary:

Signature Consultants has an opportunity for a Business Support Consultant. In this role the candidate will join our clients Enterprise Contract Management and Digitization Team (ECM&D). This team is relatively new. They are accountable for enabling enterprise-wide contract management lifecycle capabilities. This work is important because it will provide our client with a comprehensive, consolidated inventory of contracts negotiated with external entities. The inventory of contracts may, at times, require modifications due to regulatory, industry, pricing and other influences.

This is an opportunity to start from the "ground up," demonstrate interest and performance for direct hire opportunities, and offer ideas to the team and its leaders. As such, this is an opportunity to do challenging work and contribute to team successes in multiple ways. This is in an entrepreneurial type of environment; there will be a high degree of change and equally high opportunities to share ideas that could be incorporated into the team's design of work and execution of tasks. The team is planning to have business analyst roles, business specialist roles, triage roles to work complex exceptions, and quality assurance activities. They are seeking resources who demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail when reviewing documents and data, ability to utilize available and new technologies, have a can-do, participative approach to work, and deliver work in accordance with timelines and objectives.

5 Primary Components:

  • Obtain Contracts - collaborate with business partners to identify targeted contract populations and electronically ingest and store the contracts, amendments, and related documents in the target-state document repository.
  • Construct the Contract Record - identify and collate all original contracts, subsequent amendments, and related documents that represent the full contractual relationship and obligations with specific external entities.
  • Extract Terms - utilize technology and team member reviews to extract and store key terms that form the basis of the contract's responsibilities and obligations
  • Renew or Amend Contracts - evaluate contracts for potential modifications utilizing job aids, legal guidance, and business partner inputs. Provide output to business partners for possible contract notifications, amendments, or renegotiating contracts
  • Store Current Contract Versions - ensure renewed or amended contracts are returned to ECM&D by business partners to be electronically ingested and stored in the target-state repository.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for examining and analyzing documentation and data of unusual, complex and/or higher risk transactions to ensure compliance with internal company systems. Navigates multiple systems of record to leverage through the review process. Review process includes multiple different lines of business product contracts.
  • Researches and resolves discrepancies. Ensures corrective action on exceptions and problems identified, ensuring required data is input and proper procedures are followed.
  • Responds to escalated inquiries requiring special handling and that may have been forwarded by first level reviewer or senior business leaders. May include evaluating automation results and manually keying information from documents into data systems.
  • Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating and making recommendations to enhance automated systems performance to increase accuracy and efficiencies of process and tools.
  • May act as a liaison between the Enterprise Contract Management & Digitization operations group and the business units providing contract documentation to resolve and correct exceptions not able to be resolved through standard operating procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Relativity experience
  • Legal experience desired or experience with contract documents
  • Technically savvy with Microsoft products, Adobe, keyboarding skills
  • Attention to details
  • College degree
