API Modeler/Architect Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking an API Model/Architect for an opportunity that can sit in Charlotte, NC or Dallas, TX. The API Model/Architect will be responsible for shared business service analysis, design, and quality solution artifacts in working across consumer, retail, small business, and wealth banking application domains. Documents and models reusable service APIs at both the functional and data level. The candidate will serve as a point of contact for business integration delivery and API portfolio management across projects at an enterprise scale. This person typically has 5 or more years of related experience.

Qualifications:

  • Responsible for shared business service analysis, design, and quality solution artifacts in working across consumer, retail, small business, and wealth banking application domains
  • Documents and models reusable service APIs at both the functional and data leve
  • Serves as a point of contact for business integration delivery and API portfolio management across projects at an enterprise scale
  • Participates in design, development and implementation of architectural deliverables that are in alignment to strategy and standards
  • Utilizes the defined best practices, templates and documentation to create architectural designs; suggests improvements to best practices and templates through practical knowledge
  • Will support multiple projects with competing deadlines. Note, while this is not a development role, development-based tooling and service API technology implementation experience will be beneficial coupled with a business mindset
  • Typically 5 or more years of related experience.

Required Skills:

  • Domain driven design with object-oriented and resource based domain models in financial services
  • Able to design, create and manage reusable API artifacts and service interface specifications (XSD/WSDL/WADL/OpenAPI/Swagger/RAML)
  • Hands-on tooling experience, including: Source control, UML, XML, JSON, REST, SOAP, Data mapping)
  • Excellence in writing and maintaining clear end-user documentation including service API specifications, patterns, best practices, and business data definitions
  • Effectively communicate, influence, and deliver quality across a demanding agile-driven environment

Desired Skills:

  • Working domain knowledge across consumer and small business banking, wealth management, and investment banking products, business processes, data
  • Working delivery experience with any of process modeling, information modeling, business analysis, business taxonomies, and/or data dictionaries
  • Able to define and support architecture principles, standards, and implementation best practices - able to consult and guide resolution on technical issues
  • Experience with industry domain models such as IFW, BIAN
  • Strong organizational awareness; prior experience across BAC/ML is highly desirable.
