Systems Support Analyst/Systems Administrator:

Signature Consultants has a 12-24 month contract opportunity for a Systems Support Analyst/Systems Administrator in Charlotte, NC or Phoenix, AZ. It's a fairly standard enterprise level systems support analyst, not to be confused with a help desk / pc analyst. The candidate will be expected to support enterprise applications, including logging into server, performing releases, BCP, along with handling user support inquiries about the assigned applications. Ideally, the candidate should have experience in a large technology organization, supporting enterprise applications, preferably from a financial institution. We are looking for a Systems Support Analyst to join the Commercial Banking and Lending Technology Team to support multiple applications. This position requires candidates to possess a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and five years of progressively responsible experience with setup, architecture, and integration of client server systems with good knowledge of high availability systems.


  • Actively participate in Production Support for Commercial Banking & Lending Technology's Inventory Finance applications
  • Provides support for highly complex technical issues and initiatives related to large-scale applications, systems, databases and/or other technical products and services; uses diagnostic, simulation and other tools to maintain, troubleshoot and restore service.
  • Clearly understand and articulate end-user and technical issues from both business and application perspectives
  • Manage issues independently to resolution
  • Deliver results in less defined & constantly changing environments
  • Define, document and implement processes and procedures for supporting client / server architecture and SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) framework.
  • Strong working knowledge with Apache Tomcat, JBOSS.
  • This support analyst will use a comprehensive knowledge of multiple technical disciplines including Mainframe, Unix, Windows, Oracle, MS SQL, & Autosys
  • Support internal customers with the development of their own internal project plan, including the identification of key setup and configuration tasks, scope considerations, timeline and scheduling, as well as resource requirements.
  • Communicate with broad and diverse audience, including technology and business leaders; ability to simplify complex messages for consumption
  • As an application support specialist position is responsible for support functions and driving the execution and maturity of multiple application support services including incident triage, root cause analysis, change evaluation-execution-validation, deployment management, and risk & vulnerability management. Works closely with development and infrastructure partners like middleware, NAS, database, F5/network, encryption (Vormetric) etc.
  • The support analyst must have desire to independently research, analyze and propose solutions to production issues. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work both independently and collaboratively across technical and business organizations. Position may require after-hour support on a rotation basis.
  • Work with developers and application owners to implement the changes & document it.
  • Troubleshooting and providing solutions for production issues raised by either end user / automated monitors
  • Perform and lead Disaster Recovery Tests.
  • Meet and exceed CBLT Production Support SLA for timely and relevant responses to issues
  • Test and validate implementation of production fixes and upgrades
  • Effective communication skills across a variety of mediums (in-person, over the phone, email) regarding production issues
  • Drive root cause analysis to ensure meaningful preventative actions are taken to reduce future incidents
  • Prioritize production support issues based on application and business knowledge. Escalate and communicate critical issues when required.
  • Provide subject matter and technical expertise in application environment(s) supported
  • Share and transfer technical and business knowledge with others on the Production Support team
  • Help drive consistency and ensure best practices are shared within Production Support group

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills with experience importing, exporting, and manipulating data

  • Strong Analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy required to resolve abends and provide restart instructions
  • Perform triage to analyze reported incidents and alerts to ensure application availability and / or escalation to development teams
  • Monitor all incidents until resolution ensuring minimal time to restore
  • Understanding of Mainframe batch processing to include base knowledge of languages as JCL, Cobol and CA7 commands
  • Ability to analyze mainframe abends to determine if issues caused by deadlocks or contentions
  • Ability to evaluate logs and processes in automation tools such as Autosys
  • Knowledge and understanding of Data Transmission methods such as NDM
  • Good knowledge of UNIX and Windows systems
  • Understanding functionality of PAC2000 for Application Support Incident and Request Process
  • Adheres to Risk procedures ensuring security and compliance requirements are supported via change and control processes
  • Ensure regulatory and Risk requirements are compliant by ensuring software vulnerabilities are remediated and certificates are not expired mitigating operational risk
  • Responsibility includes performing health checks for applications and providing management with published daily status as well as operational weekly metrics
  • Understanding of Monitoring Tools with a basic knowledge on Sitescope, Splunk, Appdynamics, Topaz, etc.
  • Available to work shift rotation to support 24/7 production & BCP
  • Ensures Service Level Agreements are met by monitoring applications and identifying and resolving issues that impact the environment
  • Drive resolution on issues to ensure root causes are identified and corrective actions addressed
  • Ensure BCP readiness by performing BCP application testing
  • Responsible for maintaining documentation for Playbooks and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Assist in migrations from Development to Production, upgrades, installations and or Configurations.

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of systems support experience
  • 4+ years of experience with databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL server, or Teradata
  • 5+ years of Mainframe and Midrange support experience
  • 5+ years of experience in supporting applicationsRequired Qualifications: on windows and Unix env
  • 2+ years of experience working with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)

Other Desired Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of project/support processes/procedures (EACO, PAC2000, JIRA)
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical infrastructure environment
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating System
  • Knowledge and understanding of Data Governance
  • Understanding of version control and deployment tools such as Jenkins and udeploy
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools to assist with generation of metrics
  • Experience with file transmissions NDM (Network Data Mover), IPSwitch, and/or DirectConnect
