Network Security Engineer:

Signature Consultants is seeking a Network Security Engineer to work on a contract position with one of our clients located in Hollywood, Florida. In this role the candidate will collaborate with Applications, Systems and Network teams to design, implement, and secure internal and public-facing applications, Cloud computing, and third party services.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures network security best practices are implemented on all routers, switches, applications, servers, host, firewalls, and other computing systems.
  • Participates in implementation, configuration, and ongoing tier-1 support of all Firewall network infrastructure hardware and software, including Cisco route/switch, Cisco IP telephony, security, and remote access systems.
  • Provides analysis and recommendations for the continuous improvement of Cloud network and security
  • Maintains, deploys, upgrades and troubleshoots network security infrastructure solutions including firewalls, load balancers, VPN, intrusion prevention systems,
  • Work closely with other teams such as Public Safety, Public Works, Systems Infrastructure, and Networking, to develop and maintain end-to-end security based on organizational structure.
  • Adhere to best practices and regulatory requirements in establishing security policies (e.g., HIPAA, CJIS, PCI-DSS, and E.U. and U.S. Privacy Shield).
  • Participates in managing new network security projects and existing network security infrastructure.
  • Leads and assist with on-call escalations as needed internally and with third parties.
  • Influence best practice standards for network security.
  • Establishes technical credibility and provides leadership to junior support staff.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, training sessions and other activities and requests as required.
  • Mentors team members in the network security architecture and other solutions implemented.
  • Must adhere to all clients' policies and procedures.
  • Performs additional related duties, as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security, or related field is required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with Firewall configuration and policies, and Cisco networking (route/switch/wireless) experience is required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with next-generation Firewalls, load balancers, and reverse proxies is required
  • Experience with multi-factor authentication (MFA) integration via RADIUS is a plus.
  • Possession of one (1) or more active network security or information security certifications, such as Palo Alto Certified Network Security Administrator (PCNSA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Security, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Security+
  • Expert knowledge of networking technologies, including enterprise route/switch and wireless.
  • Expert knowledge of network security technologies, including next-generation Firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco, etc.) network IDS/IPS, network accesses control (ForeScout, Cisco, Fortinet, etc.)
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks: HIPAA, CJIS, FERPA, and PCI is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of network security and information security operations, including but not limited to Firewall management, threat management, incident response, intrusion detection and prevention systems.
  • Demonstrate poise and ability to act calmly and competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations.
  • Must be a critical thinker, with strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines, as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives.
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.
  • Demonstrate high level of personal integrity, as well as the ability to professionally handle confidential matters, and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
  • Demonstrate high degree of initiative, dependability, and ability to work with little supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and co-workers
  • Firewall Engineer is highly desirable.
  • Possession of a valid FL Driver's License is required with finger print check. Ability to pass stringent 7-state FBI background check
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Ability to travel to all client locations and work a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
