IT Asset Management Lead Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking an IT Asset Management Lead for an opporunity with a client in Chicago, IL. This role reports to the head of IT Asset & License Management within the Infrastructure Service Delivery group. The IT Asset Management role is responsible for managing the license positions hardware and software that support the business strategic goals.


  • Engage and align stakeholders to optimize software demand
  • Understanding existing entitlements and cost for portfolio of products (e.g. Microsoft, Oracle, etc.)
  • Determining growth or decline projections based on engagement with software product owners/stakeholders
  • Define alignment among demand management team, procurement, finance, and technology
  • Financial alignment and ability to determine growth projections
  • Provide visibility/reporting to stakeholders to optimize demand
  • Track and report on current and future volumes/obligations for designated portfolio of software products
  • Establish regular cadence (monthly/quarterly) to provide financial summary: current baseline and forecast for software obligations
  • Develop/improve the processes for software lifecycle and demand management based on prior experience
  • Participate in the creation and continuous improvement of systematic controls for software demand management
  • Planning work in conjunction with IT and business priorities
  • Chairing and participating in regular software demand management and financial meetings
  • Liaising with partners and peers throughout the organization
  • Financial alignment engagement throughout software demand lifecycle to enhance forecasting and planning accuracy


  • Software demand and lifecycle management for commercial software products
  • Financial acumen to determine and represent adequate forecasting and accruals for software entitlements
  • Continual process improvement perspective for software demand management
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentational. Will work with end users in a time sensitive environment.
  • Experience in Procurement and/or Finance organizations partnering with Technology and business software product owners/stakeholders is a plus
  • Ability to have an eye for underutilized/unrequired software in order to effectively manage costs
  • Self-starter, and be able to think ahead of entitlements related nuances
