Information Security Engineer Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking an Information Security Engineer to work on a contract position with one of our clients located in Davie, Florida. The Information Security Engineer facilitates the evaluation, integration and deployment of new data security technology and policies across all infrastructure and enterprise system components. The incumbent in this position establishes information security policy, ensures successful application of policy to the infrastructure, and manages internal and external audits to certify ongoing compliance with all federal, state and local regulations. The incumbent utilizes cross-functional expertise to plan and maintain all areas of data security, including rights management, security update compliance, vulnerability assessments, malware protection, intrusion prevention, security monitoring and external program compliance. This position reports to the Director of Information Technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Consults with executive leadership, senior management, and internal clients across multiple business units on complex security topics and policy compliance
  • Proactively identifies potential security issues within the corporate and carrier infrastructure, and provides strategic direction to avoid risks to the client's network and information assets
  • Develops security design plans to implement, test and manage new or existing information security technologies and strategies
  • Provides solutions for complex operational and integration issues to successfully deploy security technologies
  • Architects new information security systems and controls to mitigate emerging threats and risks across the organization
  • Manages all internal and external technology audits, providing risk assessments and action plans to address audit findings
  • Serves as the Security Officer for all compliance programs, such as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Justice Information Services (CJIS), etc.
  • Oversees all tasks for rights management and data access control within the enterprise
  • Manages and maintains information security software and hardware technology, including security update distribution, anti-malware, intrusion protection, content filtering and remote access
  • Establishes and provides revisions to enterprise-wide security awareness training programs
  • Maintains data security procedure documentation. Develops and assists in the communication and ongoing review of enterprise information security policies
  • Interfaces with appropriate government agencies, management and employees, customers, vendors, and suppliers to ensure understanding of and compliance with security requirements
  • Serves in a Tier-2 support role within the Information Technology support structure
  • Adheres to established support and escalation procedures and maintains in-depth incident and resolution documentation
  • Demonstrates a high level of service and accountability in the process of resolving requests, supporting daily operations and meeting customer needs
  • Establishes technical credibility and provides leadership to junior support staff
  • Must be available for emergency responsibilities in support of the network and systems infrastructure, as needed.
    Performs additional related duties, as required

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field is required. Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in an enterprise support environment with information security responsibility is required
  • Minimum two (2) completed certification within any Microsoft or Cisco certification paths is required
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is preferred. CJIS or HIPAA compliance certifications are preferred
  • Possession of a valid FL Driver's License is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate Excellent English written and oral communication skills. Ability to travel to all locations and work a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Server and Client and related technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of network and operating system security, firewalls, anti-malware, and provisioning resource access
  • Knowledge of information security industry and regulatory obligations (ISO 27001/27002, SOX, PCI, HIPAA, and CJIS)
  • Advanced knowledge of network topologies and operation
  • Thorough understanding of project management
  • Knowledge and experience with common information security management frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience with Information Security and Risk Management activities
  • Superior troubleshooting and analytical thinking
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines, as well as multi-task and prioritize multiple projects
  • Demonstrate high level of motivation, initiative and responsibility
  • Demonstrate excellent Time Management skills and knowledge
  • Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, and STOF officials
  • The work is sedentary. Typically, the incumbent may sit comfortably to do the work; there may be occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, such as books, papers. Driving a company vehicle may be required
