Application Architect Summary:

Signature Consultants is seeking an Application Architect for an opportunity in Charlotte, NC. The Application Architect will join the Operational Intelligence Team. He or she will develop, document and drive the teams monitoring strategy and its adoption and evolution with a focus on standards and application instrumentation for critical Bank Applications. This is a unique opportunity to work with Business, Application Development and Support teams, Monitoring Tools teams and to create Monitoring Requirements and build end-end monitoring solutions to support applications. The ideal candidate for this hands-on position will have excellent technical skills as well as strong communication skills to work with development teams and other engineering and business teams. Communication and flexibility are important skills for this role, as special projects may be assigned over time.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years Development or Architecture experience for multi-tiered business applications
  • Minimum 2 years production systems engineering and/or support role
  • Proven experience with implementation of monitoring - functional, synthetic, end-use experience for applications with tools such as - Tivoli, Splunk, Introscope, Sitescope, AppDynamics etc.
  • Knowledge of OS (Windows/Unix) based infrastructure services, processing, monitoring, shell scripts, etc.
  • Proven experience in programming languages (Java and/or .NET)
  • Experience working in some capacity with an application development team - understanding how different components in an application work together, interaction with the middleware, system software and Hardware is essential
  • Diverse engineering skills to architect and implement monitoring solutions
  • Proven experience in application/network performance and availability monitoring
  • Knowledge of ITIL functions and processes
  • An excellent communicator, able to network and influence across multiple levels
  • A Self-motivated, hands-on, driven individual with strong leadership skills
  • A strategic thinker who can link business context B5to technical reality
  • Able to work in a fast paced environment whilst meeting deadlines
  • Experience working and being successful in a large, multi-data center enterprise environment
  • Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills; and be able to demonstrate those skills to a varying level of internal & external resources, to include senior leadership
  • The candidate should be self-motivated and be able to detect a major concern that should be escalated to management for resolution
  • Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical personnel
  • Strong results-oriented awareness, with an optimistic and enterprising attitude
  • Experience in diagnosing complex technical issues
  • Business acumen a plus
